būda.collective is a contemporary circus and multidisciplinary art organisation created on the initiative of juggler Kasparas Bujanauskas.

Contemporary circus is not a popular genre in Lithuania, so one of the main goals of our organisation is to expand and popularise this genre throughout Lithuania and to become a well-known Lithuanian company creating multidisciplinary art projects in an international context.

būda.collective began to take shape in 2018 and was officially established in 2022, with support from the Arts Printing House through the Open Space project, where the team presented its first performance, 7 Minutes.

We have participated in festivals such as: SPOT, Helium, Naujojo cirko stotelės, Jauni jauniems, Kultūros naktis. We have also participated in international festivals and workshops: the Re-Riga festival in Riga, Latvia, the New Horizons Leadership programme in Lund, Sweden. We have been in residencies in Visaginas, Vilnius, La Central del Circ, Barcelona, Motion Chapel, Roscommon.

We explore the similarities and differences between different artistic disciplines and try to blur the boundaries between them. It is important for us to improvise and to search for what has not yet been discovered. The most important thing is to be together and to feel each other on and off stage. We consider artist collaborations to be of great value, so we aim to bring together as many artists from different disciplines as possible.

We use the techniques of juggling, acrobatics and physical theatre in our work. Our projects focus on innovation, allowing society to understand cultural phenomena more fully.

We love creative work and making art together, which is why būda.collective is not one person's vision, but a collective of people who share a common vision of their creative path. We are trying to build a community and introduce others to contemporary art and its forms, but also ourselves.
